More CoD6 Details Leaked

Many new key details have been emerging about the hottest upcoming shooter Modern Warfare 2 courtesy of the next issue of Game Informer.

Some of these details that were leaked:

  • No co-op in story mode, but separate missions reminiscent of CoD4’s Mile High Club include cooperative multiplayer.

  • In the wintry bits of the game, snowmobiles will be used to escape attack, but it’s unclear whether players will be driving or shooting from the vehicles.

  • Ice walls can also be climbed by alternating between the two triggers.

  • A live-patching system will be implemented for online multiplayer, forgoing the need for a downloadable patch.

  • Game will run at 60 frames-per-second, with better detail than CoD4.

  • Riot shields, movable turrets and customized weapons for single-player enemies were mentioned.

  • Gameplay's a bit more open-ended than CoD4 but is still linear.

  • Stealth can now be used if you like.

  • Infinity Ward’s working on fixing enemy respawn issues (CoD4’s enemies would constantly respawn unless a player crossed a certain line).

  • The single-player campaign will be longer than it was in CoD4.

    • Also according to PSM3, a UK based magazine:

  • Swimming mode enabled.

  • A ‘Stealthy’ Oil pipeline Scuba Mission will be included in campaign mode.

  • A level will definitely be based in Rio De Janeiro.

  • Siberian Level will feature in campaign mode. Vehicles (e.g. Trucks, Tanks etc.) will be introduced into the Modern Era.

  • A ‘Helicopter Based’ Level will be featured.

  • An Oil Tanker level will also be featured.

  • Ken Lally (Wesker from Resident Evil 5) will be voice acting. Most likely as a Russian villain.

    Description/Story:
    Apesgorod – a co-operative community mapping project.

    It began as an idea at our round table and today – more than a half year later, becomes a reality. Our community mapping project "mp_apesgorod" now a reality, is finally ready for release!

    As announced a couple of days ago, we have attended to the last odds and ends in polishing the map. Now, for your enjoyment and gaming pleasure, we present our map to the CoD-Community!

    Our map plays in the fictitious Russian border area Apesgorod. The autonomous region today, once a part of the Soviet Union is now dominated by separatists. They have established their headquarters in an abandoned factory site, sheltered by a mountainous area and a flanking river. From there, the group controls highly prosperous dealings with modernized AK47 and armaments from the Red Army.

    Additionally, the separatists dispose of hazardous substances used in the production of chemical agents. The worst case scenario occurred: a disastrous accident with those chemical substances contaminating the surrounding area.

    To prevent a greater catastrophe, the Special Forces from the British elite troop SAS were assigned to recover the dangerous goods and smoke out the terrorists nest. Good Luck Buddy, you’ll need it!

    The sprawling industrial complex embraces halls, administrative buildings and a small railroad station. Numerous pipelines and silos together with an usable cargo container crane define the center of the enclosed site. Separated by a railway line below and adjacent to the industrial complex, lies a small village with dachas and a church. It is connected to the complex by a well arranged tunnel system. Despite the large dimensions of the map, the numerous and cleverly designed routes and spawns make sure that you quickly reach the hard fought battlegrounds.
